Your way to SixtSixt at San Diego Intl Airport is located in the Rental Car Center, which is 2.5 miles away from the airport terminals. Free dedicated shuttle buses will run continually between the airport terminals and the Rental Car Center. Approximate wait time between shuttles is 5-10 minutes. Coming from Interstate 5 NorthTake the Sassafras Street exit and then turn left onto Sassafras Street. Continue straight through the signal at the Pacific Highway/Sassafras intersection and follow the signs to the Rental Car Center/Return. Coming from Interstate 5 SouthTake the Sassafras Street exit and then turn right onto Sassafras Street. Continue straight through the signal at the Pacific Highway/Sassafras intersection and follow the signs to the Rental Car Center/Return. Coming from downtown San DiegoHead northbound on Pacific Highway. Turn left at the signal at the Pacific Highway/Sassafras intersection and follow signs to the Rental Car Center/Return Coming from Point LomaTake North Harbor Drive eastbound (past the airport terminals) and turn left at Laurel Street. Then turn left at Pacific Highway. Afterwards turn left at the signal at the Pacific Highway/Sassafras intersection and follow the signs to the Rental Car Center/Return.

Your vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel. To avoid incurring fuel charges you will need to return it full. You may be required to leave a fuel deposit reserved on your credit card that will be released when you return the car full. Missing fuel will be charged on your return along with an administration fee. The price per litre charged by the rental agent may be significantly higher than the price at the local service station.
Mandatory Documents and Important Information
The following documents are required to collect the vehicle:
•A printed version of your Rental Voucher.
•Passport or Identification card
•A valid credit card in the name of the main driver. A security deposit will be held for the duration of the rental. The exact will be determined upon your arrival at the rental desk. The minimum deposit is USD 700 - USD 2700 for all car groups. Exceptions: the minimum deposit for car groups X*** is USD 700 - USD 2700.
•A valid (with no endorsements) driving licence. International driving licence is required for customers whose licence is not written in Roman alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Cyrillic etc.). For driving licenses from countries not part of the international driving license treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license.
•Age Restriction and Driving License: Drivers must be 25 years old and have held a valid driving license for a minimum of 12 months. The maximum driver's age is 99 years.
•For car group FVAR, PVAR drivers must have category D1 driving license. EU citizens are allowed to drive vehicles from Mini to 8 seater vehicles.
•Please Note: Customers renting in Atlanta Hartsfield Airport require proof of a return flight in order to rent a vehicle.
An Underage Driver Surcharge of USD 23.99-35.99 per day (New York State USD 35.99-60.99 per day) or maximum of USD 398.99-588.89 per month (New York State maximum USD 598.49 -1.008.19 per month) applies for drivers under 25 years.
You must be 21 years of age to rent Economy, Compact and Standard car groups (with the exception of Mustangs and SUVs).
You must be 25 years of age to rent all other car groups.
Important Toll Information
Please be aware that some tolls may not accept cash as a method of payment. If you choose not to purchase one of our Toll Products, and use an automated express/toll lane without a personal transponder, you will pay us our administrative fee of $5.00, plus the applicable toll fee, for each time you use an automated express/toll lane during your rental without a personal transponder (or other method of payment). To avoid toll violations and associated fines, fees, and taxes (and our administrative fees for processing violations and citations), you must pay all tolls with a personal transponder; use only cash lanes and pay cash; plan a route to avoid tolls; or consult local authorities for other payment methods.
For your convenience, Sixt offers the below optional toll products:

You can purchase our optional Express Toll Unlimited which offers unlimited use of automated toll lanes. Our toll service does not cover toll roads that only accept cash.
(2) General Toll Service (Only Northeast US, price and availability vary by state)
If you choose to use our transponder, you will be billed for all tolls at the highest prevailing undiscounted rate, plus a set fee for each day of the rental.You may purchase this service at the time of rental or by calling 1-(888)-749-8227 to add Toll Service during your rental. If you DO NOT wish to use our transponders, DO NOT open the Vehicle's transponder box.
Our Express Toll Service offers unlimited use of all automated toll lanes within select states for a daily prepaid rate:
