Hello. I'm booking a car hire for July/August. Is full payment taken now? I understand that there is free cancellation.

hi, there is free cancellation up to 24 hrs prior to pick-up but the website will ask for a payment, it is automatic.

Yes, but is the full amount charged to my credit card now?

you are in the UK but a USA resident?

yes, I'm in the UK at the moment but my passport is US and I have a US address, payment is from a US credit card registered at that address in Maine.

intermediate, quote was for Nissan Sentra with SIXT

OK it is asking for payment now in full. I would wait until nearer the time if you dont want to pay now

Are the rates quite different for UK vs US residents?

I tried a few things/tricks but it still asks

in fact for your future reference, if you enter your residency as ARGENTINA and leave it as that. Then when asked for your address put your normal US address and phone etc... DO NOT CHANGE where it says Argentina. This is the way we can normally obtain the best rate.

It's a technical thing AND DOES NOT EFFECT your reservation at all, for example using this in Hawaii I a, able to get 50% discount.
